ABSTRACT
Herpetic whitlow is a painful cutaneous infection caused by the herpes simplex virus that affects most commonly the fingers and occasionally the distal phalanx of the toes. This rare form of herpes virus infection is characterized by painful and non-purulent vesicles. Misdiagnosis of herpetic whitlow usually leads to inappropriate interventions. We presented a 13 month old patient with herpetic whitlow to increase awareness of its diagnosis and management.
