ABSTRACT
Symmetrical peripheral gangrene is ischemia of two or more regions without great vein obstruction. This condition is a rare complication of sepsis, but also has a high mortality rate. Half of the patients require amputation. 85% of cases of symmetrical peripheral gangrene are related to disseminated intravascular coagulation. In this paper, we present a rare case of symmetrical peripheral gangrene in childhood due to disseminated intravascular coagulation during sepsis.
